    1. Hey Sabrina,

      1) That's up to your parents.

2)No, SM is looking for people talented in music, modeling, VJ's , makeup artists, and so on. Having a 4.0 GPA is not on the list of requirements.

  4. Hey SM girl!

I want to ask you a few questions. I hope you don't mind!^^

    1) I'm Indonesian but I was born and raised (for 5 years) in Japan. I speak 5 different languages (English, Indonesian, a little Japanese, learning Mandarin in school and Korean at home). I'm 151cm tall and 42kg. Have long hair. My dancing skills are good, but my singing is okay (I'm starting to take courses to improve my singing). I'm 12, 13 this year and an 8th grader. Living in Malaysia. My grades are good. Plays the piano since I was 5. My pronunciation in Korean is good and clear to understand. Do you think I can pass the SM audition? Can you tell me the process of the audition?

    2) As you know, I'm an 8th grader but I'm 12 (I started year 1 when I was 6). I'm afraid that my educational skill is lacking in a Korean education standards (I heard from my Korean friend that the education in Korea is REALLY tough). If I EVER become a trainee and my grades goes down, will the company kick me out?

    3) Does religions matter?

    4) What is the difference between the weekly audition and the global audition? (I'm taking the global audition)

감사합니다 for taking your time reading this! 죄송합니다 for asking really long question, I'm just curious since I want to take the audition. :)

I really can’t say if you’ll be able to pass or not. I don’t know exactly what SM is looking for. The audition process changes as time goes on.
Usually you go in (for the Weekly) fill out an application and then audition. They will ask you to sing a song without any music backup and then have you dance freestyle to some music they put on.

Honestly 12 is too young to audition. I would not recommend auditioning until your at least 15-16. Use the time you have know to take singing lessons, dance lessons, acting lessons, etc.

      3) Does religions matter?

      I don’t believe so.

      4) What is the difference between the weekly audition and the global audition? (I'm taking the global audition)

Global you’ll be audition with 9 other people at a time. You’ll still sing and dance. Just be on your toes and be flexible.

  5. Hi SMgirl!
I'm 3/4 asian (1/2 mongolian descent and 1/4 tajik [country borders china, people look asian]) but i myself dont really look asian... my forehead isnt high/large, i have double eyelids and a high nosebridge and my nose doesnt look asian at all. Do you think I have a chance, i mean they are looking for people with high nosebridges and everything, but do you think they'll accept me if i qualify with everything else?

    1. Hi Rebecca,

SM is looking for pretty and talented people. If you fit that description you should have as good a chance as the next auditionee.

    1. Hey Jann Celine Miranda,

I don't think SM is holding any auditions in the Philippines this year. I really don't know if you would pass the audition because I'm not an SM judge.

  7. Hey SM girl!
I'm 14 and am planning on auditioning when I'm fifteen, but I have a few questions first.
    1. I'm not Asian. Would they still accept me? I can sing really well and am taking dance lessons right now.
2.Would I be able to go to college if I was accepted? My education is very important to me.
    3. I'm not fat but I'm not as skinny as their stars. Would that be a problem?
4.Last one. I want to audition as a singer at the world wide audition in Los Angeles. What will they have me do and what should I wear?
    Thanks for the help!!!

  8. Hey Amber Joreteg,

    1. So far SM hasn't accepted anyone who isn't at least part Asian. However, give it a try anyway you never know.

    2. Many SM idols have gone or are going to college. SM seems to encourage higher education.

    3. Perhaps, Korea thinks beautiful and thin are pretty much synonyms in their book. However, if you look pretty it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

    4. Wear something comfortable because you will probably have to do a rhythm check (move, dance, or clap to music). Introduce yourself and what you are doing.

    You're welcome,
    SMgirl

  9. Hi! It was told that 8-20 is recommended for the audition. I just want to ask if SM also accepts 20 above. Is it? My friend wants to audition there but she thinks that she'll not be able to join the audition because she's already 24. She's from Philippines and now an English teacher in some school in Korea. She's new there that's why she's not that good in speaking Korean (only basics). She's good in singing, dancing and acting as well. Her height is about 5 ft. I think. Is she not qualified? Hope you respond for my dear friend. :D
